Twilight Walk in the Holly Forest
Saturday, December 5 and 12 | 4:00 - 5:30 pm
Make merry with an enchanting fresh air evening adventure in the Heartwood Holly Forest!
Join us for a fun and educational walk along paths shining with strings of lights in the Heartwood Holly Forest - hundreds of tall old evergreen Holly trees and lacey winterberry shrubs decked with red and gold berries.
Sue Hunter, owner of Heartwood Nursery and president of the American Holly Society, will tell you about Holly historical uses and legends and what makes Hollies one of the best native plants to have in your yard. Kids, keep an eye out--there may be a little hidden treasure along the way. After our walk, we'll warm up with hot cocoa and cookies around the firepit.
Ideal for: Adults and youth. Note: There are no paved paths, so strollers cannot be accommodated; children who can't walk need to be carried.
Plan on: Walking approximately a half mile on level ground, at a leisurely pace in likely chilly weather. Dress for the outdoors and weather, with appropriate outerwear and layers. Restrooms: Clean well maintained porta-pot.
Registration:
18 or older: $10 plus $2.50 EventBrite fee
17 or younger: Free
