​​​We welcome community groups, schools, and other organizations for educational tours of Heartwood Nursery. Learn about native plants while walking the grounds of our beautiful working nursery. Tours are led by owner Sue Hunter, a native plant horticulture pioneer who founded Heartwood Nursery in 1987.

FAQ

​

When do you offer tours? Monday - Saturday, generally within our working hours of 9 am - 4 pm. There is always seasonal interest at Heartwood. Tours are available year round, weather permitting.

What is the fee?  $10/person

 

How long is a tour? Please plan on an hour and half. Since this is a walk and talk, we allow time to accommodate everyone. We also find people have questions, which we welcome. 

 

What's included in a tour? The working area of our nursery covers 30 acres, and we share several beautiful sections of it, including the Heartwood Holly Arboretum, Serviceberry Orchard, pollinator meadow, evergreens, and other areas, as well as our propagation greenhouse and retail area.

Is the tour customizable, so our group can focus on particular areas of interest? Yes. Contact us to discuss.

​What size groups do you accept? We request a minimum of 5 people and a maximum of 50.

​

Are restrooms available?  Yes, we have a well maintained porta-potty on the grounds.​​​​​​​

​

​Is there on site parking? Yes
