While walking through beautiful fall color, learn how native trees respond to changing day length and temperature in ways nearly imperceptible to the eye.

With Sue Hunter, native plant pioneer who founded Heartwood Nursery in 1987, you'll learn about seasonal seed dispersal; spring flower buds forming now on dogwoods and other trees; how protective bud scales function; what lenticel patterns on bark mean; and more.

Wear walking shoes. We'll walk about one mile, taking our time in the nonworking part of the nursery. We love questions, so bring yours!
