Heartwood Native Plants: Ecological Beauty​
Our plants are straight species. At Heartwood, a plant label with a name in quotes means the plant is a selection from a naturally occurring population. The name typically reflects a characteristic, such as growth habit or color, or other noteworthy information about that selection.​ Our plants are not cultivars, genetically manipulated to change their appearance.
We specialize in both common and less known native plants. With diverse options for sun, shade, dry, and moist conditions. Our plants fill a range of landscaping needs, and they work beautifully in formal or informal designs. Sizes range from 3- to 5-gallon nursery trade containers. (Not all species are available in all sizes.)​​​​​​

We propagate and grow 90% of our native trees and shrubs from seeds and cuttings from our own stock. We grow by hand and never use pesticides, preferring natural and biological control methods.
